Time for a New Project

Now before the feast of the the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.

And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;

A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

These are my verses for today.  I am struggling with knowing how to apply these in the context of evangelism.  When does a person cross the line from unbelieving/unsaved and in need of the gospel to a heretic who should be rejected after the second admonition?  Can nonbelievers be heretics or is that term reserved for those who claim to be Christians but promote heresies and subvert the gospel?  Lots to meditate on today. 

Titus 3:8-9

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.  

These things are good and profitable unto men.  But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

Slow, Not Quite Steady, But Still Going

I haven't been real consistent lately, but I'm still adding verses, little by little.  I hope to be done with Titus by mid-July.

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

divers- Where do you ever hear this word anymore?  I am really growing to love the King James.

Today I'll be working on Titus 3:1

Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,

I'm not sure how ready I am for every good work.  I'm usually slow to volunteer to bring food to people because I just don't know what to fix that would transport well and that the kids in a family would like.  I'm thinking I should make a list of meals that I can cook that would be appropriate for taking to someone so I am prepared when the  need arises.

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Still Catching Up

The good thing is that I am doing a verse a day.  I just keep forgetting to post them.  I cannot imagine trying to do 4 at a time...

Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
