Still Catching Up

The good thing is that I am doing a verse a day.  I just keep forgetting to post them.  I cannot imagine trying to do 4 at a time...
Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Titus 1:14-16

Catch Up Again

  For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
  But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;
  Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
  For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision:
  Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
  One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
  This witness is true.  Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

Titus 1:6

If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.

Catch Up

I haven't been posting what I'm working on- sort of got out of the habit...
For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.
Psalm 1:6
And...
  Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth with is after godliness;
  In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
  But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
  To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
  For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city , as I had appointed thee:
Titus 1:1-5

Psalm 1:5

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the day of judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

Back At It

February 28?  Wow, I guess it has been awhile since I last posted.  Well, I am off on my next project, so I am thinking that I will begin posting again.

Several weeks ago I shared a testimony on memorizing Ephesians with my Sunday school department, and last Sunday I started teaching a women's class using Janet Pope's His Word in My Heart.  Amazingly, there are several women who actually joined the class.  We are memorizing Psalm 1 this week and on Sunday will begin working our way through memorizing the book of Titus.

Here is where I am so far...
Blessed is he who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.  Whatever he does prospers.
Not so the wicked!  They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
Psalm 1:1-4
